Meatloaf has always been a favorite but when we
decided to reduce our intake of beef, a turkey loaf
didn't have that satisfying edge that the ground beef
loaf had so we decided to try other concoctions and
- 1 pound Honeysuckle White ground lean turkey
- 1 pound ground veal
- 1 1/4 Nature's Seasons salt
- 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon Redmond Real Salt (Sea Salt)
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped shallot
- 1/2 cup chopped yellow bell pepper
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 8 ounces canned diced tomatoes in juice
- 1/2 cup Bob's Red Mill Extra Thick rolled oats
Topping:
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 6 tablespoons Luzianne's Tiger Sauce
- 1 teapoon powdered mustard
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F, 350 degrees if your oven gets super hot!
Mix all meatloaf ingredients well and place in a loaf pan, press even.
Mix ingredients for topping and spread on top of loaf. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
